A multi-vehicle crash, involving a Chevy Silverado, Toyota Corolla and two other vehicles, occurred Monday morning, November 7, 2022, in Leesburg. A 42-year-old man from Eustis died in the accident.

The man, whose name was not disclosed by the Florida Highway Patrol, was driving a Corolla when it was rear-ended by a 2003 Chevy at 7:14 a.m. at Country Road 44. He died at the scene. Gustavo Martinez Cortez, the 36-year-old driver of the Chevy was arrested for driving without a license.

The crash also involved a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage and a semi-truck. The driver of Mirage, a 23-year-old woman from Deland, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital in Tavaras. Semi-truck was driven by a 69-year-old man, who was safe after the crash.
