A single-vehicle accident, involving a 2004 silver Chevrolet pickup, occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 1518 Ridgewood Avenue in Holly Hill, Florida. A 26-year-old man from Daytona Beach died in the crash.
According to a press release, at the time of the accident, the driver – the only occupant of the pickup truck – was travelling at high speed southbound on Ridgewood Avenue when he lost control of his automobile as it passed Flomich Street.
The vehicle rolled several times, during which the driver was ejected from the pickup. The vehicle then hit a power pole and a tree on the west side of the road before coming to a stop. First responders treated the driver, who was then taken to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
