A two-vehicle crash, involving a sedan and a cement truck, occurred at Lehigh Acres Intersection at around 6:39 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. A 42-year-old man from Mount Dora died in the crash.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the sedan was travelling west on Lee Boulevard when the driver lost control of his car. The sedan crossed the raised median and came into the path of a cement truck, which was travelling east on Lee Boulevard. After colliding with the sedan, the cement truck ended up hitting a tree and landing partially on the car. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is being further investigated.
