A double-vehicle crash, involving a Ram pickup truck and a Pontiac Firebird, occurred on Tuesday evening, February 28, 2023 in Walton County, Florida. A 50-year-old man from DeFuniak Springs died in the accident.
The crash occurred around 6 p.m. As per a news release by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officials, a white Ram pickup truck was turning left from Cottonwood Blvd. in an attempt to head eastbound on U.S. Highway 90, while a red Pontiac Firebird was approaching the same intersection heading eastbound on U.S. Highway 90. FHP troopers reported that the driver of the white pickup truck failed to spot the red Pontiac that was approaching, The witnesses confirmed that the car had no headlights on.
As the driver of the white pickup truck took a left turn, the red Pontiac collided with the back of the pickup truck, resulting in the death of the DeFuniak Springs man who was driving the Pontiac. However, the 52-year-old driver of the white pickup truck from Laurel Hill remained uninjured.
