A single-vehicle accident, involving a pickup truck, occurred near the intersection of Farm Worker Way and SR-29, Sunday morning on February 20, 2022. The driver of the vehicle died in the crash.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 58-year-old man from Fort Myers was moving southbound in his pickup truck on SR-29 and he was approaching the Farm Worker Way’s intersection at the time of the incident.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle swerved onto the grass shoulder and collided with a guard rail. It then flipped over, eventually ended up in a canal.
The driver was declared dead at the accident scene. The crash is under investigation.
