A two-vehicle accident occurred near Lee Boulevard and Hanna Avenue in Lee County, Florida at around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. A 65-year-old man from Lehigh Acres died in the crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), before the crash, the man was driving in the east direction on Lee Boulevard in the lane next to the second vehicle involved in the accident. A 62-year-old woman was driving the second vehicle.
At the time of the accident, the man veered his vehicle left that caused the front of his vehicle to hit the right rear of the second vehicle. The collision redirected the first automobile to the right side, causing it to hit a curb and then a sign. The injured man was taken to Lehigh Regional Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
The driver of the second automobile and her passenger, a 16-year-old girl, also from Lehigh Acres, sustained no injuries. The crash is under investigation.
