A single-car crash, involving a Toyota Tundra, occurred on Sunday morning, January 15, 2023 on State Road 429, near South Apopka in Orange County, Florida. A 77-year-old man died in the accident.

According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers, A Toyota Tundra was moving southbound in the inside lane near mile marker 28. The driver, a 77-year-old man from Leesburg, lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road to the left, striking a guardrail before overturning.

The driver and his passenger, a 73-year-old woman from Eustis, were both transported to a local hospital. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital and his passenger sustained serious injuries, but is now stable.

All southbound lanes at mile marker 29 were temporarily closed after the accident. The crash is under investigation.
