A 71-year-old Brandon man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, near Selmon Expressway Exit Ramp in Brandon, Hillsborough County, Florida. A 71-year-old woman was injured in the crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred when a Brandon man, who was driving west on the SR-618 to US-301 exit ramp, lost control of his car for an unspecified reason and veered off the road.
The driver veered to the right shoulder and ended up hitting a traffic reflector and a traffic signal.
While the driver died at the scene, his passenger, a Brandon woman, sustained serious injuries and was transferred to a nearby hospital.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
