A single-vehicle crash, involving an SUV, occurred at around 10:20 p.m. Thursday night on March 10, 2022, on County Road 437, near Plymouth Hollow Circle, in Lake County, Florida. A 16-year-old boy from Sorrento died and 4 other occupants were injured in the accident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the deceased boy from Sorrento, who was driving the SUV, lost control of his automobile that was carrying four passengers, aged between 11 and 16 years. The crash report revealed that the SUV hit a light pole on the north shoulder of Plymouth Hollow Circle. The SUV then continued to move post-collision. It finally ran over hedges and then struck a tree before coming to a stop.
The driver was transported to a hospital in the Apopka area, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The other four kids in the SUV suffered minor injuries and were taken to a different hospital. The crash is under investigation by FHP troopers.
