On Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Orange County, Florida, a Chevrolet Camaro and an Apopka police car were involved in a two-vehicle collision. A police officer from Apopka was hurt in the crash.

The collision happened when a driver blew a red light and struck the officer’s car near the intersection of State Road 414 and U.S. 441 at 3:30 in the afternoon.

The Orlando-based driver of the Camaro, who was 39 years old, blew a red light and collided with an Apopka police car that was travelling south on U.S. 441 while he was westbound on the off-ramp of State Road 414, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The non-life-threatening injuries were sustained by the Apopka police officer. He was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other vehicle’s driver was not injured.
