The Florida Highway Patrol said a 28-year-old Clermont woman was killed in a crash Sunday after she lost control of her car and struck a power pole.
Around 5:25 p.m., the fatal accident occurred. According to the FHP crash study, at County Road 561A and Lakeview Drive.
Investigators claimed that on CR 561A, the woman was driving a Nissan Sentra west, failed to navigate a road curve and drove onto the shoulder and through a culvert. According to the study, the roof of the Sentra hit a power pole.
At the crash scene, the driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead.
It appears that in this case there was no other, at-fault party. Unfortunately, this likely means the driver’s family has no recourse for compensation.
