On Monday morning in Orange County, a SunRail train carrying 30 passengers crashed into a car, causing the commuter rail service to be delayed and cancelled.
There were rumors of the accident at about 6:10 a.m. He’s on Lancaster Lane.
A 55-year-old woman was driving a sedan and tried to turn from Lancaster Road onto Orange Lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the woman turned on the train tracks accidentally and her car got stuck.
The front of the train then reached the vehicle, said the FHP.
The woman was taken with minor injuries to a hospital, troopers said.
No one was injured on the train.
SunRail tweeted that because of the collision, six trains were cancelled and some were delayed. Later on, full service resumed, officials said.
The woman appears to have made a rather simple mistake. Luckily she only suffered minor injuries. It is important to always wear a seatbelt.
