A two-vehicle crash, involving an SUV and a semi-truck and trailer, occurred at around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 on Quintette Road, Florida. A 48-year-old woman from Escambia County died in the accident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at the time of the incident, the woman was driving the SUV toward the west on Quintette Road when she failed to stop and came into the path of the oncoming semi-truck and trailer, driven by a 71-year-old man from Mississippi, on U.S. 29 highway.
According to troopers, the truck driver veered into the left lane to avoid the collision, but the SUV hit the passenger side of the truck. Due to the collision, the SUV was pushed along U.S. 29 and it started to overturn, partially ejecting the woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, from her seat. The SUV came to a stop, partially on its roof on U.S. 29.
The driver of the SUV was declared dead at the scene by Escambia County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The truck driver sustained no injuries. The northbound lanes of U.S. 29 was closed for a few hours after the crash and the traffic was diverted onto Quintette Road.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
