A fatal boating accident occurred in Sarasota Bay on June 14, 2024, resulting in the death of 46-year-old, as confirmed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
The accident took place near Longboat Key at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 600 Jungle Queen Way, Manatee County. A vessel navigating the Intracoastal Waterway collided with a channel marker, triggering the tragedy.
Emergency response teams from the FWC, Longboat Key Police Department, Manatee County Fire Rescue, local lifeguards, and the U.S. Coast Guard promptly arrived at the scene.
The vessel had seven individuals on board at the time of the collision. Two passengers sustained severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, one of them, Mark Hall, succumbed to his injuries.
The FWC is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
