In Manatee County, Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol has disclosed details regarding a tragic auto collision that transpired at the junction of US 41 (also known as 14th Street West) and 33rd Avenue West in Bradenton on February 6th, 2024, at precisely 8:47 PM. This incident involved a sport utility vehicle and two pedestrians.
The SUV, under the control of a 59-year-old male resident of Punta Gorda, deviated from its intended path, crossing over a median and entering into the lanes of oncoming traffic. Subsequently, it collided with a 33-year-old bicyclist hailing from Bradenton, resulting in fatal injuries for the cyclist. Following this initial impact, the SUV collided with a utility pole, leading to the dispersion of debris that struck and injured a second pedestrian.
The second pedestrian, a 27-year-old male also from Bradenton, sustained injuries from the debris and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash unfolds, the Florida Highway Patrol remains actively engaged in the case.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
