In Manatee County, Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol has disclosed details regarding a tragic auto collision that transpired at the junction of US 41 (also known as 14th Street West) and 33rd Avenue West in Bradenton on February 6th, 2024, at precisely 8:47 PM. This incident involved a sport utility vehicle and two pedestrians.

The SUV, under the control of a 59-year-old male resident of Punta Gorda, deviated from its intended path, crossing over a median and entering into the lanes of oncoming traffic. Subsequently, it collided with a 33-year-old bicyclist hailing from Bradenton, resulting in fatal injuries for the cyclist. Following this initial impact, the SUV collided with a utility pole, leading to the dispersion of debris that struck and injured a second pedestrian.

The second pedestrian, a 27-year-old male also from Bradenton, sustained injuries from the debris and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash unfolds, the Florida Highway Patrol remains actively engaged in the case.
