A head-on collision, involving a sedan and an SUV, occurred at around 1:25 p.m. on Friday, December 24, 2021 on State Road 46 in Lake County, Florida. A father-son duo from Eustis died in the accident.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the sufferers were moving westbound on the state road when the SUV hit the front-left side of their sedan. It is unknown as to why the SUV driver moved over the traffic line divider and went into the westbound lanes, eventually hitting the sedan.
The impact caused the sedan to catch fire. The sedan driver, a 49-year-old man, died at the accident scene. His 27-year-old son was taken to Orlando Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The SUV driver, a 21-year-old man from Summerfield, was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
