A single-vehicle crash, involving a Dodge Durango SUV, occurred on County Road 561, in Clermont, Florida, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 08, 2022. Four people, including a 5-year-old girl, died in the accident.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at the time of the accident, a 24-year-old man from Orlando was moving southbound in Dodge Durango SUV on County Road 561 when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve near Florida Boys Ranch Road, which caused his vehicle to leave the roadway and move onto the east grass should, where it hit a large tree.
A crash report revealed that the SUV had four occupants. The passengers included a 23-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, both of Orlando, along with a 5-year-old girl from Clermont. All four were declared dead at the scene.
None of the adult SUV occupants was wearing seat belts, and the girl wasn’t restrained in a proper automobile seat. The roadway remained closed in both directions from Florida Boys Ranch Road to Lake Nellie Road for a few hours after the crash. The accident is under investigation.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
