A fatal crash, involving a motorcycle and a sedan, happened in the area of State Road 44 and State Road 415, just south of the New Smyrna Speedway in Volusia County, Florida on December 28, 2021. A 70-year-old motorcyclist died in the accident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at the time of the crash, the sedan, driven by a 41-year-old man from Deltona, was moving northbound on State Road 415 and a 70-year-old man from Merritt Island was moving toward the south on State Road 415 on his motorcycle.
The crash report revealed that the sedan driver lost control of his vehicle and came into the direct path of the motorcycle driver, and ultimately hit the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the accident scene. The crash is under investigation.
