A head-on collision occurred at around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021 on Interstate-75, before the Pine Ridge Road exit, near mile marker 106 in Florida. A 24-year-old man from Hialeah, a passenger in one of the automobiles, died in the crash.
Troopers said that at the time of the incident, a 23-year-old man from Naples, who was driving a pickup truck, was moving toward the north in the southbound lanes on I-75 when he hit another pickup truck, driven by a 26-year-old man from Miami, who was driving his vehicle in the right direction.
The 2nd pick up truck’s driver suffered minor injuries, but the truck’s passenger, a 24-year-old man, died in the crash. The first pick-up truck driver sustained minor injuries. After the collision, the pickup truck hit a third vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old woman from Naples. The third vehicle’s driver and her 26-year-old passenger sustained no injuries in the accident.
The accident caused the southbound lane of I-75 to be closed for over 6 hours. The crash is under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the charges are pending.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
