A three-vehicle accident, involving a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria, Chevrolet Suburban car, and a Buick automobile, occurred in the nighttime on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 on West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac, Florida.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the 22-year-old Ford driver was moving in the west direction on West Commercial Boulevard at a high speed just after 9 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, which then spun through the inside lane and collided with a median, eventually splitting into two after hitting a tree.
The Sheriff’s Office said that while the rear half of the vehicle remained wrapped around the tree, its front part slid into the eastbound traffic. A chunk from the remains of the Ford vehicle broke the driver’s side window of the Chevrolet Suburban car that was moving in the east direction. The front part of the Ford vehicle was ultimately hit by a Buick vehicle that was also moving in the east direction.
The Ford driver was declared dead at the scene while the Buick car’s driver and his four passengers were taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where they were treated and released later. The car crash is under investigation by traffic homicide detectives.
