A crash, involving a pickup truck and an SUV, occurred around 11:42 a.m. on October 2, 2021 on 10th Avenue N. just west of Henthorne Drive in Palm Springs, Florida. A 27-year-old man from Lake Worth Beach died in the crash.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 27-year-old man was driving the pickup truck toward the east and he was directly behind the SUV. For unknown reasons, he failed to maintain a safe distance from the SUV and hit the rear of the SUV.
The impact caused the pickup truck to travel across the westbound lanes, leave the road, and hit a tree. The vehicle further rotated and crashed into a fence. After being hit by the pickup truck, the SUV moved northerly, across the westbound lanes of 10th Avenue N. and hit a tree and a chain-link fence.
The pickup truck driver was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 31-year-old man from Greenacres, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, suffered minor injuries. The SUV driver, a 74-year-old man and his passenger, a 63-year-old woman, both from West Palm Beach, sustained minor injuries.
