A two-vehicle crash involving a maroon Kia Sorento SUV and silver Dodge Ram pickup truck occurred at around 3:13 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the intersection of Westhampton Drive and Pine Lakes Parkway in Palm Coast, Florida. The Kia driver, a 63-year-old Palm Coast man, died in the accident. The pickup truck driver, a 67-year-old man, sustained no injuries in the accident.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Kia driver was heading south toward the intersection, and the Dodge Ram driver was approaching from the west on Pine Lakes Parkway at the time of the crash. The Kia driver did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection and hit the pickup truck. The Kia vehicle then crashed into a grove. The pickup truck came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.
A report from Flagler County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the Kia driver possibly had a medical emergency. The 63-year-old driver of the Kia was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast, where he was pronounced dead. The Palm Coast Fire Police shut down the crash scene.
