A semi-truck smashed into a Florida Turnpike toll booth Monday in Osceola County after struggling to break in time.

At mile marker 236, the collision occurred on the Turnpike near the southbound toll booth around midday, triggering a 3-mile traffic backlog.

Troopers said the semi’s driver refused to slow down and struck a motorcycle, then the toll booth to the south. According to the FHP, no one in the toll booth was injured. The semi’s driver was airlifted to a local hospital.

As of 1:40 p.m., all but one southbound lane was blocked. Following the collision, all northbound lanes remained open.
