A head-on crash involving a sedan and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) occurred at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, on State Road 46 near the intersection of Dusty Lane in Volusia County, Florida. Two motorists died, and a passenger suffered severe injuries in the accident.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said that at the time of the accident, the sedan was moving toward the west on State Road 46 when the 23-year-old driver from Merritt Island swerved into the path of the SUV driven by a 32-year-old man from Sanford. Both motorists died in the head-on collision.
FHP troopers reported that the SUV driver was declared dead at the crash scene, and the sedan driver was transported to a hospital, where he was later declared dead. The injured passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Mims, was hospitalized. All three involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
