A fatal two-vehicle crash, involving a 2005 Kia Sorrento and a 2017 Nissan GT-R, occurred early morning on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 on the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Florida. Two men died in the accident.
According to Tampa police, the crash happened on the Clearwater side of the causeway, but remained under their jurisdiction. The accident was reported by witnesses at around 3:40 a.m. According to reports, the Kia vehicle flipped after being rear-ended by Nissan automobile, which caused all Kia occupants to eject from the vehicle.
Two persons in the Kia vehicle died at the accident scene. Two other Kia occupants, a 33-year-old woman with possible internal injuries and a 36-year-old man with critical injuries, were taken to a hospital. The driver of the Nissan vehicle did not sustain any injuries and he cooperated with crash investigators.
Detectives believed that alcohol and improper use of seatbelt contributed to the crash. The causeway remained closed for a few hours after the accident.
If any nearby person or vehicle were injured/damaged as a result of the driver’s negligence, there would likely be a valid personal injury claim.
