A two-vehicle crash, involving an SUV and a log truck, occurred on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in the Yulee community, about 24 miles north of Jacksonville. A 25-year-old woman from Fernandina Beach died in the crash.
Around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, an SUV was moving east on state road 200, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities said that the woman failed to keep a safe distance while driving in the outside lane behind a semi-truck hauling logs. Following her collision with the truck, the logs fell onto her vehicle.
The 25-year-old woman was brought to a Jacksonville hospital where she was later declared dead.
