A serious crash involving a van carrying members of the cross-country team of the Oregon Technology Institute occurred on Friday, November 18, 2022, near Gainesville, Florida. Ten members of the men’s team and one member of the women’s team were injured in the crash.

The team was returning from the national championship meet in Tallahassee, Florida when it got into a crash that also involved a semi-truck and other cars. The members of the team were transferred to four local hospitals where they were treated and released on Friday evening.

Due to the crash, northbound lanes and two southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were briefly closed.
