A fatal crash occurred Saturday night on July 02, 2022 when a 39-year-old woman from Orlando tried to walk across East Colonial Drive in Orange County and she was fatally hit by two vehicles: a pickup truck and a sedan.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred at around 9:13 p.m. near Sherman Street when the woman was crossing eastbound lanes, south to north, outside of a marked crosswalk.
The crash report revealed that the woman came into the direct path of the pickup truck, driven by a 26-year-old man from Orlando, and she was hit by the left front of the pickup. Due to the impact, the woman was thrown into the inside westbound lane of the drive, causing her to, again, come into the direct path of the sedan, driven by a 25-year-old man from Orlando. The woman was hit a second time and she was declared dead at the accident scene.
Both drivers remained at the accident scene and sustained no injuries. The crash is under investigation.
