A single-vehicle crash, involving a 2003 Dodge Caravan, occurred early Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 on Interstate 95, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A 57-year-old man died in the accident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident happened around 2:50 a.m., a quarter of a mile north of Sunrise Boulevard on southbound I-95. The 57-year-old man, who was at the wheel of a Dodge Caravan, lost control of his vehicle and hit a barrier wall while driving in the wrong direction.
He died upon arrival at the Broward Health Medical Center, where he was transported by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and an investigation is underway to determine why the driver was driving the wrong way.
