A head-on accident, involving a car and a pick-up truck, occurred Saturday afternoon, December 11, 2021, SW on State Road 121 in Alachua County, Florida. The car driver died in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) crash report revealed that the car driver, a 29-year-old male from Jacksonville, was traveling toward the north on SW State Road 121, near County Road 346 A. At around 4:00 p.m., the car swerved into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons and hit the pick-up truck that was parked on the shoulder of SW State Road 121.
The crash caused minor to no injuries to the occupants of the pick-up truck, including two kids and a 42-year-old man. The car driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to the crash report, a 35-year-old pedestrian also suffered minor injuries in the crash. However, the report did not specify how the pedestrian witnessed the accident or got involved in the crash. The occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
